Royal Oak Schools Foundation helps the Performing Arts at AB&E

You probably saw the sea of lavender shirts with the Royal Oak Schools Foundation logo on the front all over Arts Beats and Eats this summer.  That's because we sponsored the ROSPAC effort this weekend to earn money for the Performing Arts at ROHS by purchasing the shirts for volunteers manning the gates and a beverage tent.  So instead of spending some of their profits on the shirts, they were able to direct all of the funds to the kids.  The volunteers likely raised over $10,000 during Labor Day Weekend and would have earned even more without the rainstorm on Monday.  Thanks to all of the hardworking volunteers.  The Foundation is proud to be part of the great effort.

Then, the last Monday of June,
Join us! The ROSF at the 26th Annual Golf Outing !

The 2018 Royal Oak Schools Foundation 25th Golf Outing was the best attended in years.  Over 124 golfers took the last Monday Off in June for this great cause.
In 2018, golfers were raising money to provide each school with up to *$6,000 to make improvements in educational tools, furnishings and tech essentials.  A good chunk of that money was raised during the outing. Royal Oak Schools Foundation Board President Dave Dursum said "this commitment allowed us to raise over $25,000 dollars to support the schools, teachers, and students of Royal Oak."
*$54,000 was raised for 9 school buildings - PAID this 2018!

Not only did the golfers help raise these much needed funds, the Royal Oak business community chipped in as well.  Over 40 businesses chipped in as sponsors or provided prizes for the Silent Auction which included everything from a signed guitar from Country Music legend Alan Jackson, to growlers from all of Royal Oak's breweries.  Others walked away with dinners at restaurants, rounds of golf and even a pancake breakfast at one of Royal Oak's oldest homes.

Obviously, this sort of event takes a great deal of effort to put on.  "On behalf of the Royal Oak School's Foundation I would like to thank of the volunteers, sponsors and golfers who made this years event a great success" noted Dursum when asked of the efforts.
