ROSF Golf Outing and BBQ!
Metamora Golf and Country Club
Monday June 21, 2021

We’re pleased to announce The Royal Oak Schools Foundation will hold it's 27th Annual Golf Outing at the beautiful Metamora Golf & Country Club on Monday, June 21, 2021.  We are excited about hosting our Annual Golf Outing at a new location.  Along with 18 holes, we will be enjoying a delicious barbecue banquet featuring Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork cooked on site as we golf by the club’s own BBQ Pitmaster!  Due to the change in distance from our previous venue, we have moved tee off to 10AM. For those interested, the Foundation is providing FREE COACH BUS TRANSPORTATION from ROHS to Metamora Country Club.  The bus will leave at 8 AM and return around 6 PM.  See registration form to make your reservation.
There are plenty of on site opportunities to donate. We'll have mulligan strings, "rent a pro" and raffles. The ever popular "50/50" & "Basket of Cheer" raffles return and the new "Loaded BBQ Grill" will be added to your opportunities of chance!  There will be great Royal Oak area prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin (men and women) and we will crown a new team Champion as well.  We hope we can count on your support!
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Download an entry form by clicking one of the links below.  Single golfers are only $175 which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, continental breakfast, barbecue banquet lunch and beverage cart on course.  Of course we have some great corporate sponsorships that include a golf package for 4 to 8 people plus on course signage, on line and program recognition at plenty of affordable levels.
Just download the entry form, and fill it out. Either send it in with a check (to the address on the form) OR scan and e-mail it to royaloakschoolsfoundation.com.  You may pay $700.00 for Foursome, $175.00 for a single golfer or $20 for Barbecue only  via the "Buy Now" buttons below or on PayPal at rofpe1@gmail.com.  Please include your name in the field.

A Thank You to our Teachers and Support Staff

ROYAL OAK SCHOOLS FOUNDATION AND ROYAL OAK DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY THANK ROYAL OAK SCHOOLS EMPLOYEES FOR 2020 EFFORT WITH A GIFT
2020 had been a tough year by any measure.  But imagine being a teacher, or school employee during 2020.  Shifting from in class learning to e-learning in a matter of weeks, keeping students safe when they returned to the classroom, feeding children who miss their daily school lunch, pivoting and informing thousands of students of the changing schedule and agenda.  It is an effort that deserves recognition.
The Royal Oak Schools Foundation is providing a holiday gift of $30 in Downtown Dollars partially funded by the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority to over 600 Royal Oak Schools employees to show our appreciation of their extra effort this year educating and supporting Royal Oak Schools Students.
“We asked some of the teachers what they needed this holiday season” said Scott Brown, current President of the Royal Oak Schools Foundation, “they said that they would like to cook one less meal or have one less present to buy ... take something off their plate so they could enjoy their reduced free time”
While brainstorming possible gift ideas, a board member suggested the DDA’s Downtown Dollars program.  For $20, you can purchase $30 in Downtown Dollars to be spent at any of the participating Downtown Royal Oak businesses. The DDA funds the additional $10 as part of their program.  It was an opportunity to reward our teachers and school employees for their efforts and help our Downtown retailers during a particularly difficult year.  Each employee will be receiving $30 to spend at participating downtown Royal Oak merchants on whatever they choose, a meal, a gift, a hairstyling, a yoga class ... even a dog grooming.  The possibilities are endless in Downtown Royal Oak.
Thanks to each Royal Oak Schools teacher, para-professional, psychologist, counselor, social worker, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech therapist, custodian, maintenance, building secretary and central office staff member will receive an email from the Foundation and the Authority rewarding them with a download of $30 in Downtown Dollars as a small token of our thanks and recognition of their efforts this year
While the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority and The Royal Oak Schools Foundation made this gift possible, funds for this gift were raised this summer during the Foundation’s “Farmers Market Haul” program which delivered fresh vegetables directly to doorsteps during the pandemic.  So really, it’s a gift from all the residents to the teachers and staff of Royal Oak Schools.

ROSF 2020-Donates $12,000 to Royal Oak Youth Assistance

ROYA has been an important safety net in our community for years.  COVID-19  has tested their ability to care for our school community with so many additional families in need.  The Royal Oak Schools Foundation (ROSF) initially donated $6000 at the onset of the crisis to provide Royal Oak Youth Assistance with the necessary funds to make it through the school year.  As summer is now upon us the need has not slowed so we have made an additional $6000 donation to ROYA to help get them through the summer. In COVID, the great need of ASSISTANCE stood out. ROSF donated $12,000, over the year for the benefit of our kids, their families and our school system!

Become Part of the Future!
  • The Royal Oak Schools Foundation is a service-based volunteer organization serving the Royal Oak community
  • We provide funding for educational programs to Royal Oak’s public schools
  • Contributions may be tax-deductible
After many years of awarding mini-grants to very grateful teachers, the Foundation is now seeking to focus its funding efforts on targeted initiatives. Rather than scattering funding to many smaller requests, the focus is now on identifying key initiatives that
  1. Have the potential for district-wide impact,
  2. Address specific identified needs
  3. Where possible, provide an opportunity to partner with other groups and organizations, thus increasing the impact of funding.
